Since 2007, Westbrook Dance Academy has been dedicated to giving every student a rewarding dance experience and memories that last a lifetime. Our mission remains the same today: to provide a well-rounded dance education, inspire a lifelong love of dance, and help students reach their full potential—both on and off the dance floor.

Our experienced, professional instructors bring passion and enthusiasm to every class, combining strong foundations in technique and terminology with a fun, engaging, and challenging learning environment. We offer classes for all ages and ability levels, from beginner to advanced, with recreational, performance, and competitive opportunities in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics, and Musical Theater.

Every class features age-appropriate music, curriculum, costumes, and choreography, with class lengths designed to give students the time they need to learn and grow. Our instructors continue their own training through classes and dance conventions, bringing fresh ideas and expertise to WDA’s established curriculum.

Over the years, our dance family has grown to include students from 13 towns. We have proudly watched our graduates pursue careers in dance and the arts, as well as education, biology, medicine, and many other fields. Their accomplishments continue to make us proud.

Westbrook Dance Academy has earned national championships for the past 13 years, along with numerous choreography awards, dance titles, overall awards, and Studio of Excellence honors. Our achievements at the World Dance Championship include:

• 2015: Third Place

• 2017: Fourth Place and the Outstanding Performance Award

• 2018: Outstanding Performance Award

• 2019: Fifth Place and the Excellence in Theatrical Entertainment Award

• 2024: Excellence in Character Development Award

Our dancers have also shared their talents at Walt Disney World, UConn Women’s Basketball halftime performances, Six Flags New Jersey, Six Flags New England, Old Saybrook/Westbrook Football halftime performances, and the Westbrook Tree Lighting Parade.

Located on Boston Post Road in Westbrook, next to Lenny and Joe’s, our studio features two full-sized dance studios with full-length mirrors, ballet barres, and professional dance floors designed to cushion impact and reduce stress on dancers’ joints. The safety and well-being of our students are always a top priority.

Our location is easily accessible from Westbrook, Clinton, Old Saybrook, Centerbrook, Madison, Guilford, Killingworth, Lyme, East Lyme, Old Lyme, Deep River, Essex, Chester, Ivoryton, and surrounding communities.

We look forward to welcoming you to our growing dance family!
